In order to make money on the web – you must first create the basis. Take all the time you need to create your money-maker. I built some toolbars in 2 days, others in 2 weeks. The time I invested in each depends on the complexity of the toolbar niche. Some toolbars require weekly maintenance, whereas others are updated once a month. And then there are the money-making toolbars which are good to go without any maintenance at all.
It all began last January, when I started to learn about affiliate marketing.
I searched the web to learn about the different affiliate programs out there. At first it wasn’t more than a weekend hobby. I used to set landing-pages with affiliate links and run Google Adwords campaigns to drive targeted traffic to those pages. It worked but didn’t yield as much money as I hoped it would… I kept searching for a way to increase my online income. Then, by complete chance, I came across a toolbar building platform of a company called Conduit and decided to give it a shot. Conduit provides an extraordinary toolbar building platform, free of charge. It enabled me to create radio-toolbars for specific audiences of different nationalities. I found all the radio stations from each country I chose and added useful links.
For Radio Netherlands Toolbar, I added hundreds of Dutch radio stations along with other useful links. To my surprise, I discovered that hundreds of new Dutch speaking users were downloading my toolbar everyday. These soon became thousands of daily downloads and that was just the beginning. And all that on a zero advertisement budget! Two weeks later, as I analyzed my site logs, I had an important insight. I figured out that a vast number of the users were arriving from e-mail referrals. (Although I never used e-mail marketing campaigns, so I was pretty amazed). Then I realized that my radio toolbar become viral, self-marketed - if you will. Users who enjoyed my toolbar started recommending it to their friends… It spread like wild fire.

A month later I updated my radio toolbar, adding some sponsored links from big affiliate networks in The Netherlands, similar to Commission Junction and ClickBank. I found programs such as Babylon that provided me with free translation from Dutch to English, which I added to my toolbar. Since then the affiliate checks started flowing to my mail box…
It took me 3 more months to quit my day job as a stock broker and to dedicate my time (less and less time) to build more money-making toolbars.
I must admit that creating a successful money-making toolbar could take over a day or two, but after it’s up and running, it can’t be stopped. Every hour spent creating your toolbar will eventually pay you back ten fold. Instead of traditionally marketing a few tens of sites, in the regular affiliate marketing techniques , I discovered the great advantage in having all the affiliate links on a useful radio toolbar that will generate thousands of clicks per day.I think it’s nice to make more than $28,500 every month from the Internet, doing almost nothing.
I’m talking about a major change in my way of life. I wake up whenever I feel like and sometimes stay in bed until noon. It’s great to know that the Radio-Toolbars I created work for me 24/7, while I’m not doing much, relaxing in the comfort of my own home - mostly in pyjamas... I take my family on many vacations (and leave the laptop at home, imagine!) Today, my main occupation is cashing the paychecks and managing my bank account. I’m happy, my wife’s happy and so is our bank manager.
